View at the windy top of Cape Hope and the lighthouse

Our second day started with a drive to Fishoek to inspect the elders boarding. They are always happy to see us and surprised we had brought company.

A short drive from there and we refilled our tummies with lunch at the Quarterdeck. Shopped a bit on the waterfront then off again to see the penguins. The day was basking in one of the first sunny days we had seen in a while however, the wind was icy cold. Especially when we went to see the penguins.

Both on the way to Cape Hope and coming home we saw our first good sightings of baboons. We had seen two baboons on separate occasions when we first arrive here but we were going 60 miles an hour and they were running across the street. If you blinked you would have missed them. This time there were two different families. Each time they were sitting by the side of the road with a mother and father as well as children. Unfortunately our cameras were in the boot. I must get a copy of Lois's picture she took, they were so cute. We have been cautioned to not roll down the windows and especially not to feed them. Which we didn't.

We had planned to hike to the top of Cape Hope and the lighthouse but with the wind so bitter the option of taking the cable car became much more enticing. The view was spectacular.

Lois and I were able to take a little snooze on the way back to Pinelands. Lois and Jarad walked over to the to Pick-N-Pay to buy a few items, while Elder Henderson and I went to the Mitchell's Plain Branch for our second ARP meeting, which was very successful.

What a great day!
